How to Delete a Backup (Local vs Remote) Print

Deletion Types

  • Delete Local: removes the backup archive from your WHMCS server
  • Delete Remote: removes the backup from the off-site provider (if supported)

Recommended Process

  1. Verify the backup is not needed
  2. Confirm you have at least one other known-good restore point
  3. Delete local first (optional), then delete remote (optional)

If Remote Delete Does Not Seem to Work

  • Confirm provider permissions include delete access
  • Confirm the destination path is correct
  • Use provider UI to verify the remote file truly removed
