Orphans & Unverifiable Backups: What They Are and What To Do Print

  • 0

Definitions

  • Orphan: The module has a record of a backup, but the local and/or remote file can’t be found where expected.
  • Unverifiable: The module could not confirm the remote file exists (often due to permissions, API limits, wrong path, or provider errors).

Common Causes

  • Remote destination path changed after upload
  • Credentials changed (list/read permission missing)
  • Provider API temporary failure
  • File deleted directly from provider UI

Recommended Action

  1. Re-test provider credentials
  2. Run verify remote again
  3. Confirm remote path/destination
  4. If it is truly gone, purge orphan records to clean the dashboard
